Today you will be carrying out an

investigation on how acid creates a chemical

reaction on rocks.

First you need to write a prediction…

Then put on your safety glasses!

After that you take 4 watch glasses, lay them out and put 1 of the following on

each glass:

GraniteBasalt

Sand StoneLimestone

Then add ½ a test tube of acid

Record your observations

Did it fizz?Did it change colour?

Did any parts crumble?etc.

After ten minutes your investigation is over

was your prediction correct?

Now write an evaluation and conclusion
