Zimbabwe Miners Federation(ZMF) is the brainchild of Ministry of Mines and Mining Development whose birth was marked in 2003 to represent and contribute to the development ,growth and empowerment of the artisanal and small scale miners in the country.

Affiliates-It has 26 associations that ratified the constitution

About 25000 registered small scale miners 500 000 who are involved in artisanal and

small scale mining in Zimbabwe 153 000 are women and children

Despite the low production at an individual level, the often large number of units involved means that at a national scale ,total production can be significant thus equaling or exceeding that of large miners
