Mohs Hardness Scale

The Mohs scale of mineral hardness characterizes the scratch resistance of various minerals through the ability of a harder material to scratch a softer material. It was created in 1812 by the German mineralogist Friedrich Mohs .

Take 4 sheets of paper

Place each sheet 1-2 cm higher than the next

Fold the top layers over

Be careful so that you can still see ALL the layers

Fold the papers and crease well

Then staple along the top

Cut the middle 5 layers

And label as shown in the diagram
