Why did he invent the battery?
In 1791, an Italian physicist called Luigi Galvani discovered that the muscles of dead frogs legs twitched when struck by a spark. Luigi assumed that the tissues of the frogs legs contained electricity. But Alessandro, Luigi’s colleague did many experiments to prove that Luigi was wrong. And by doing all the experiments, Alessandro thought of a way to invent the battery.
What we like about the inventor?
We admire Alessandro for his perseverance and self-confidence. At the age of 14, he realized his dream
was to be a physicist. He had confidence that he could become a
successful physicist. With perseverance, he did.
What are his values? He persevered and was open-minded to think of a great invention such as the battery to make electrical equipment easier to handle.
