Manytechnicalpapersdescribetheprocessprogressesofadditivemanufacturingwhilegeneralmediaspresentrealizationsof3Dprinting.Practicalapplicationsofthecorrespondingtechnologiesareinprogressbutonlyinalimitednumberofsectors:medical,prototypeparts,shortseriesoffunctionalparts.Allkindofmaterialsareusedforadditivemanufacturing:metals,ceramics,concretes,polymers…Inthepolymersector,thesetechnologiescouldleadtoarealrevolutionifthegoodmaterialscanbeappliedtothedifferentprocesses.Thenserialpartswiththerequiredproperties(aspect,mechanical,durability,…)couldbeobtained.Inordertoassessadditivemanufacturingforplasticparts,acolloquiumisorganizedbySFIP,SIA,INSALyonandMinesDouai,onMarch23&24,2016atINSALyon.Duringthiscolloquiumwewillsetthestateofartofadditivemanufacturingapplications.Thenwewilltrytodetectexpectationsintermsofmaterialsandalsoperspectivesforfuture.
