Background
• ExxonMobil implemented an XML schema solution for uniformly transferring fluid property lab reports.
• In 2004, ExxonMobil asked POSC to evolve their work into industry standards.
• Last autumn, we adapted the XML material within the WITSML architecture

Applying Generalized Lab Test Model to Fluid Properties
• Several tests are modelled.• Determine PVT properties, phase curves,
sample constituents/ composition.• General sampling context (wellhead, separator
tank, completion, etc)

Next Step: Form Work Group• Initial version of schema has been developed
– Follows the general lab test pattern– Need subject expert input to ensure that everything is placed
correctly• Refine concepts about the tests
– Need input for definitions and test understanding• Sample implementations
– Positive indications from ExxonMobil to participate and to encourage others to do so
• Can lead to review and publication as add-on to WITSML Production Standards
