Basic troubleshooting

Redigitize screen.Soft, warm, and hard resets.

Open the Digitizer inside the Prefs application

Tap the sequence of three targets.

Use the Touchscreen if it is difficult to tap exactly on something (such as a menu)

Gently insert a paper clip into the Reset Hole on the back or bottom of the handheld

A soft reset restarts your handheld without losing

data or applications

Try a Soft Reset if your handheld “freezes”

Some Palm handhelds have a built-in “paper clip” in the stylus

While holding down the Scroll Up button…

… push a paper clip into the Reset Hole

Next try a Warm (or Safe) Resetthat bypasses any system extensions and patches

When you see the handheld restart, let go of the Scroll Up button

If all else fails, do a Hard Resetthat restores your handheld to factory specifications

Almost all Palm handhelds* have an expansion card slot

MultiMediaCards (MMC) can be read-only, or read-writable, a great way to distribute data and programs.

Secure Digital Cards (SD) transfer data at a fast 10MB per second, support a standard mode of operation, and are guaranteed to be interoperable with other SD devices.

The expansion card slot accepts two kinds of cards

The handheld “chirps” when the card is fully inserted

To eject a card, push it slightly back into the slot

To insert a card, push it gently into the expansion slot

WARNING !!! Never PULL a card out. This could severely damage your handheld.
